PURPOSE: A temporary framing system and a top down method using the same for a building with shallow basement floors are provided to improve the constructionability of a basement structure, to enhance the stability of an earth retaining wall, and to shorten a construction period. CONSTITUTION: A temporary framing system for a building with shallow basement floors comprises a pair of temporary steel columns(2), and a steel beam. The pair of temporary steel columns is separately installed in the ground by a distance which is 1.5-2.5 times bigger than a pile drilling diameter towards the diagonal direction of a reinforced concrete column(6) from the center of a basement structure. The basement structure is formed with beams in the short and long side direction of a slab. The steel beam is positioned in the lower reinforced concrete beam and is hinged between a pair of temporary steel columns.
