PURPOSE: A molten metal refining apparatus and a refining method using the same are provided to make molten metal into droplets by letting falling molten metal collide with a refractory pad, and to induce swift refining reaction in the free fall process of the molten metal droplets and in a slag layer passing process.;CONSTITUTION: A molten metal refining apparatus comprises a container body (10), a nozzle (20), a pole (30), a pad (40), and a slag layer (50). The container body can regulate the atmosphere which supplies a mold with molten metal which is supplied from a ladle. The nozzle makes the molten metal in the ladle flow into the container body. The filmized pole and pad make the molten metal, which flows in from the nozzle, into droplets or a film. The slag layer removes non-metallic inclusions from the molten metal which has become the droplets or the film.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
