PURPOSE: A method for extracting a large amount of methylated catechins from Camellia sinensis leaves, green tea, or oolong tea is provided to obtain a large amount of high purity methylated catechins with anti-allergic activity.;CONSTITUTION: A large amount of methylated catechins are extracted using a mixture solvent of formic acid-containing distilled water and ethanol from Camellia sinensis leaves, green tea, or oolong tea. The concentration of the formic acid is 0.1-2.0%. The concentration of the mixture solvent is 10-50 wt% (w/v) with respect to the weight of the Camellia sinensis leaves, green tea, or oolong tea.
