PURPOSE: A method for correcting a carbon dioxide measuring microelectrode, an oxygen measuring microelectrode, a pH measuring microelectrode is proper to a study on effects of the primary production of benthic microalgae live on the sea bottom.;CONSTITUTION: A method for correcting a carbon dioxide measuring microelectrode, an oxygen measuring microelectrode, a pH measuring microelectrode includes a correction method using carbonate solution and a correction method using reference carbon dioxide gas. The correction method using carbonate solution is as follows. 200 mM NaHCO3 solution at predetermined low concentration is successively putted to the microelectrodes by using 50 mM phosphate buffer in which the fresh water of pH 7.2 and the sea water of pH 8.2 are mixed. The 50 mM phosphate buffer in which the fresh water of pH 7.2 and the sea water of pH 8.2 are mixed is heated and cooled under a vacuum condition after removing carbon dioxide and oxygen as much as possible within a predetermined range. Nitrogen gas is injected into the 50 mM phosphate buffer so that the carbon dioxide becomes zero. A blank is measured, and 10 ml of 200 mM NaHCO3 solution is added to the 50 mM phosphate buffer.
