PACKET DELIVERY MODE SELECTING METHOD SELECTING ONE AMONG A PACKET DELIVERY MODE IN MOBILE INTERNET PROTOCOL AND A PACKET DELIVERY MODE IN LOCATOR/IDENTIFIER SEPARATION PROTOCOL THROUGH MATHEMATICAL COST ANALYSIS
PURPOSE: A packet delivery mode selecting method is provided to efficiently minimize total cost generated during packet delivery.;CONSTITUTION: A probability that a packet is delivered to the exact location of a receiver and a probability that time-to-live (TTL) does not expire after a final cache hit in locator/identifier separation protocol (LISP) are calculated (S101). A reference value for the determination of a packet delivery mode is calculated (S102). A packet delivery cost by mobile internet protocol (IP), a packet delivery cost by LISP, and a locator lookup cost are calculated (S103). The packet delivery cost by mobile IP is compared with the sum of the packet delivery cost by LISP and a fixed multiple of the locator lookup cost (S104).
