PURPOSE: A spatial light modulator, an image display device including the same, and a spatial light modulating method thereof are provided to easily modulate a phase of light by using a light refraction layer including areas having different refractive indexes.;CONSTITUTION: A photorefractive layer(110) includes a first area(112) and a second area(114) having different refractive indexes. A metal film(120) is placed on a bottom surface of the photorefractive layer to generate surface plasmon by incident light passing through the photorefractive layer. If first light is incident on the photorefractive layer, a phase difference between light reflected through the first area and light reflected through the second area is generated.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
