PURPOSE: A text message transceiving device in a portable terminal and a transceiving method are provided to improve the management efficiency of a text message by grouping the text messages in each receiver.;CONSTITUTION: A text message transmission unit(410) simultaneously transmits a text message including a first tag value to a plurality of receivers. A response message reception unit(420) receives a response message including a second tag value. When the first tag value of the text message is the same as the second tag value of the response message, a display unit(430) displays the text message and the response message by grouping the text message and the response message.
