PURPOSE: A spindle motor is provided to have upper and lower regions of a cap member alternatively welded to a cap mounting part and to reduce torque due to a load transferred to the cap member.;CONSTITUTION: A thrust plate(140) is fixed to a shaft(130). A sleeve(120) rotatably supports the shaft. An insertion groove(124) and a cap member mounting part(125) are formed on the upper end of the sleeve. The cap member(150) is fixed to the cap mounting part. The cap member and the thrust plate form a vapor-liquid interface. Upper and lower regions of the outer periphery of the cap member are alternatively welded to the cap mounting part along the columnar direction.
