PURPOSE: A shading device for a vehicle using a CMOS image sensor and a driving method thereof are provided to conveniently control the light-and-shade of an LCD panel in daytime and to partially control the light-and-shade with respect to a light region stronger than a periphery by analyzing images photographed by a CMOS image sensor in nighttime.;CONSTITUTION: A shading device(100) for a vehicle using a CMOS image sensor comprises a CMOS image sensor(110), a central control unit(140), an LCD panel(150), and a controller(130). The CMOS image sensor is installed in the vehicle, thereby photographing vehicle external images. The central control unit analyzes images received from the image sensor, thereby determining a light region stronger than the periphery and controlling that the voltage is applied to the LCD panel of a corresponding light region. The LCD panel receives control signals from the central control unit, thereby controlling a partial light-and-shade depending on the applied voltage.
