A method for the physical synthesis of silicon carbide nanopowders allowing the physicochemical properties of silicon carbide to be maintained during synthesis. The invention relates to a method for synthesising silicon carbide (SiC) by laser or plasma pyrolysis by means of a reaction mixture comprising acetylene, acetone and silane. Said reaction mixture is regulated such that the proportions of acetylene, acetone and silane of said reaction mixture remain constant during synthesis.
