The present invention relates to a method for determining steroid hormones in aqueous phase by solid-phase extraction, derivatization and detection by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. According to the invention, the sample of filtered water acidulated up to pH 4...6 is passed through a previously conditioned cartridge, the analytes are eluted with hexane : ethyl acetate : methanol in a ratio of 5:5:14, the eluted solutions are evaporated at 40°C, the extract is derivatized at 25...45°C, for 60...90 min, by silylaltion with N-methyl-N-trimethyl-silyl-trifluoroacetamide and the silylated hormone derivatives are simultaneously analyzed by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectroscopy.
