The present invention relates to novel microorganism, Pseudomonas putida LSW17S (KCTC0978BP) isolated from tomato root, increased amounts of salicylic acid and phosphorus in tomato leaves, and reduced bacterial wilt caused by Ralstonia solanacearum .Cultivar Momotaro T93 was relatively resistant to bacterial wilt and control value against bacterial wilt was 47% by treatment with LSW17S. In contrast, cultivar Housemomotaro was susceptible to R. solanacearum and its control value was 56% in pot test. Treatment of LSW17S also reduced disease severity of powdery mildew of tomato seedlings fertilized with double strength of nutrient solution. Although LSW17S treatment did not affect on disease severity or level of salicylic acid (SA) in a susceptible pumpkin cultivar ‘Hongtozwa’ against Pythium sp. and Phytophthora capsici, whereas it not only increased SA concentration but also suppressed disease severity in a resistant cultivar ‘Chilsongsintozwa’.
