The present invention relates to a culture medium for culturing and identification of Pectinatus bacterial strain, which culture medium comprises at least a carbon source, at least a nitrogen source, at least an amino acid source, at least a vitamin source, at least a sulfur source, at least a biogenic metal source, at least a redox potential-decreasing substance source, a buffering substance, and further iso{alpha}-acids and/or reduced hydrogenated derivatives thereof in concentration of 10 to 80 mg/L. The invention further relates to a method of taking scrapings by sampling rods having a sampling part, wherein the method is characterized in that prior taking a scraping the sampling part of the sampling rod is dipped in a solution of sterile distilled water with the addition of a redox potential-decreasing substance in a concentration of 0.25 to 3 g/l. After the scraping, the taken scraping is incorporated into the above-indicated culture medium.
