Hydrometallurgical reactor provided in order to carry out an extraction of at least one first metal initially present in a first oxidation state in an aqueous phase comprising: a reaction vessel, provided in order to contain the aqueous phase, in which said first metal passes from said first oxidation state to a second oxidation state different from said first oxidation state, said passage from said first oxidation state to the second oxidation state generating a change of state of said first metal; a supply of said aqueous phase connected to said reaction vessel; stirring means arranged in order to stir said aqueous phase in said reaction vessel; - a supply of at least one gas into said reaction vessel comprising diffusion means; and an outlet of said aqueous phase containing said first metal extracted having said second oxidation state, said outlet being connected to said reaction vessel, optimally provided with drainage control means.
