PSOLUTION: The negative active material for the nickel hydrogen battery is represented by general formula MmSB1-/SBT1SB/SBNiSBx/SBAlSBy/SBMnSBz/SBCoSB/SBT2SB/SB. (In the formula, Mm is a mixture of light rare-earth elements; T1 is at least one kind of element selected from the group comprising Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba; T2 is at least one kind of element selected from the group comprising Sn, Cu, and Fe; 0.010.5; 2.5x4.5; 0.05y+z2.0; 00.6; 00.6; 5.6x+y+z++6.0.).
