PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method, a design apparatus, a design program, and a recording medium of tailored blank material, by which method, apparatus, program, and recording medium, a design time can be shortened while improving the characteristic of the tailored blank material. PSOLUTION: The design apparatus 10 of the tailored blank material comprises a first tailored blank material model design means 14 for forming a temporary tailored blank material model 1a using a temporary joining line L1, an analytical model forming means 12 for forming a formed product shape model 3 formed by press-forming the temporary tailored blank material model 1a into a formed product shape, a deformation analyzing means 13 for calculating the deformation amount 6 by carrying out a deformation test for the formed product shape model 3, and a second tailored blank material model design means 15 for setting a joining line L by modifying the temporary joining line L1 such that the deformation amount 6 is within a preset range.
