PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cast slab heating device and a cast slab heating method of a continuous casting apparatus capable of efficiently heating upper corner areas of a cast slab.;SOLUTION: The cast slab heating device 10 of the continuous casting apparatus 12 includes a heating coil 15 consisting of a conductor for performing the induction heating of upper corner areas 17, 18 of a cast slab 13 by the prescribed length along the advancing direction of the cast slab 13. The heating coil 15 has one or a plurality of first and second upper straight line groups 23, 24 arranged parallel to each other above the right and left upper corner areas 17, 18 of the cast slab 13 with a spacing from the cast slab 13, and one or a plurality of first and second side straight line groups 25, 26 arranged parallel to each other aside the right and left upper corner areas 17, 18 of the cast slab 13 with a spacing from the cast slab 13, respectively.
