PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve higher efficiency in generating carbon monoxide with a photocatalyst composed of a rhenium complex.;SOLUTION: In a first step S101, a rhenium complex expressed by Re(CO)3LX is brought into contact with carbon dioxide. Next, in a second step S102, the rhenium complex is irradiated with light. As a result, the carbon dioxide brought into contact with the rhenium complex is reduced, and carbon monoxide is generated.
