The method involves entering information required for positioning an impact mannequin on a spreadsheet, and performing a search for geometric transformations of members e.g. legs, with an algorithm for allowing the mannequin to reach a position close to a desired position. The position is optimized with optimization software. An automation script is written for preprocessing software. The script is executed for integration of data in finite element modeling software, and desired positioning of the mannequin is carried out according to results of modeling phase. The spreadsheet is Excel(RTM: Commercial spreadsheet application), preprocessing software is Optima(RTM: Not defined), and the modeling software is Radioss(RTM: next-generation finite element analysis solver for linear and non-linear simulations).
