Device for providing temporary extracorporeal circulatory assistance to heart during e.g. coronary heart disease, has actuator whose controlled displacement allows oscillation of membrane to generate systolic diastolic pulsated blood flow
The device (1) has a blood filling chamber (C) with variable volume intended to transit blood of a patient. The chamber includes an inlet duct (A) connected to an inlet nozzle, and a blood ejection duct (E) connected to a blood ejection nozzle. Displacement of a linear actuator (12) is controlled by a control system according to physiological needs of the patient and hemodynamic status in real time, where the controlled displacement allows oscillation of a membrane (110) for varying the volume of the chamber and to generate systolic diastolic pulsated blood flow. The membrane includes hardness of approximately 1000 Shore.
