Method for making shelf for covering luggage compartment of motor vehicle, involves projecting border of coating material blank from periphery of shell, and folding border to face coating material backing shell that covers edges of blank
The method involves disposing a shell (2) against a vessel of a mold, and injecting a precursor mixture of rigid foam into the shell. The foam is allowed to swell, and the mold is closed by a cover to define a mold cavity. A structure obtained in the mold is demolded, where the structure includes a face area (3) defined by the shell and an opposite backing area (4). The shell is associated against a coating material blank (5), where a border (6) of the blank projects from the periphery of the shell and folded to face a coating material backing shell (7) that covers all edges of the blank.
