The method involves exposing a portion of surface (6) of a to be tested part (7) to a light beam (2) i.e. laser e.g. yttrium, aluminum and garnet laser (1), interacting with the part for changing color, where the part is made of plastic material. Visual study of the changed color of the part is performed with natural light. The light beam is adjusted so as to interact with pigments or dyes of the part by sublimation, calcinations or foaming of the surface portion of the part exposed to the light beam.
