The device comprises an electron beam welding device (1), and a filler metal. The electron beam welding device comprises an electron gun (2), and a vacuum tank. The filler metal is constituted of V or U shaped wire or sheet, and includes two connected branches with an angle of 20-40[deg] . The connected branches have a length of less than 3 cm. An independent claim is included for a process for repairing a defect of a metal piece such as a blade of a turbine engine.
