The device has a supply belt (14) displacing flat bivalve shells and hollow bivalve shells along longitudinal direction so as to transport the flat and hollow bivalve shells toward a separation module (12). Two supply belts are tilted with respect to vertical direction. The supply belt comprises upper edges and lower edges, where distance separating the upper edges of the two supply belts is larger than distance separating the lower edges such that the hollow bivalve shells are wedged between the two supply belts and are moved toward one end of the separation module.
