The hood element (2) comprises an outer planking (3) and an inner stiffening structure (4) connected with the outer planking for stiffening the planking. Two separate reinforcing elements (9,10) are provided, which are spaced apart in transverse extension of the hood element and are arranged between the planking and the stiffening structure in the front edges (E1,E2) of the hood element in the driving direction. The reinforcing elements are connected positively and non-positively with the planking and the stiffening structure. An independent claim is included for a vehicle with a hood element and reinforcing elements positioned above the vehicle headlamps.
