The gear wheel comprises a gear portion having teeth (3), where the gear wheel is formed of a sheet steel. The teeth exhibit a different surface finish in regions loaded or loadable on the rolling contact than in other regions. The rolling contact loadable regions are tooth flank areas (4) and cured by martensite excretion, and have a lower surface roughness than the other regions. The toothed portion is or comprises an involute toothing. Independent claims are included for: (1) a seat adjustable mechanism; and (2) a method of manufacturing a gear wheel.
