Method for manufacturing segment designed as composite of function ring segment and carrier ring segment of bearing ring of e.g. slide bearing, involves hardening composite of function ring segment and resin-impregnated fibers
The method involves forming a carrier ring segment (7) by hardened resin-based fiber reinforced plastic. A function ring segment (1) is arranged at a retainer (2) and wrapped with resin-impregnated fibers. The composite of the function ring segment and the resin-impregnated fibers are hardened, where the function ring segment comprises a radius of curvature, which is larger than dimension of the retainer. The retainer is designed as a fully-cylindrical mandrel, and the function ring segment is designed as a ceramic cut. An independent claim is also included for a segment.
