Method for producing rank-transformed images to represent e.g. three-dimensional object in memory of computer, involves computing single rank tables for parts of images, and computing rank table for preset images from single rank tables
The method involves dividing original data of predetermined images e.g. red images (112), green images (113) and blue images (114), such that independent parts of the images are developed in pairs. An associated rank table is determined from the original data of the preset images. Single rank tables are computed for the parts of the images. A rank table for the predetermined images is computed from the single rank tables. The single rank tables are additively merged to a total rank table by considering a correction quantity, which results from the number of the single rank tables. The independent parts of the images are individual color components of red, green and blue color model. An independent claim is also included for an arrangement for producing rank-transformed images to process image data.
