The method involves determining start point of target point. The optimum route between the start and target points is computed based on map data in card memory device using parameter set. The failure of route computation is detected. The modification of parameter set is performed. The optimum route between start and target points is re-calculated using modified parameter set. The allowed last road element is detected according to parameter set during route computation analysis of the computed route on basis of parameter set.
