Radial actuator for use as drive for rotary latch of lock for e.g. building, has rotatable shaft that is rotated by drive, where drive is designed so that turning axis of shaft is produced by forming wire-shaped memory alloy
The actuator (1) has a rotatable shaft (2) that is rotated by a drive. The drive is designed so that turning axis of the shaft is produced by forming a wire-shaped memory alloy. A ratchet mechanism causes the shaft to be rotated by the drive in a direction. A driver (4) is engaged with a gear wheel (3) for moving the gear wheel and the shaft by contracting the memory alloy from an original position into an end position. A conductor track (9) and an electrical contact (8) are attached in a plastic material support in a non-conductive manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a radial actuator.
