The coaxial waveguide includes a central guard and a sleeve-shaped guard (2) which is arranged around the central guard. The sleeve-shaped guard comprises a slot (4). A high frequency (HF) transmitter (6) is provided to feed high frequency power through the slot. The slot is formed extending at the side edges (25) of the sleeve-shaped guard, which are arranged opposite to each other.
