Exhaust system for diesel engine of motor car, has injector and additive oxidation catalyst coordinated to heat fuel, which is partially converted in additive oxidation catalyst, where fuel is completely converted in main-oxidation catalyst
The system (1) has a particulate filter (4) arranged in an exhaust line (2). A fuel injector (13) is arranged upstream to an additive oxidation catalyst (7) i.e. electrically heatable catalyst, in a bypass line (6), for introducing fuel (14) into an exhaust gas stream (15) guided into the bypass line. The stream, injector and the additive oxidation catalyst are coordinated for heating fuel, which is partially converted in the additive oxidation catalyst, where the partially converted fuel is completely converted in a main-oxidation catalyst (5). An independent claim is also included for a method for heating a particulate filter to regeneration temperature.
