The converter (1) has an inverter (2) with a resonant circuit element (5) for generating an alternating voltage from an input direct current voltage (U-A). A half-wave rectifier (3) and a transformer (4) coupling with the inverter and half-wave rectifier generate output voltages. The half-wave rectifier includes a secondary winding (14) of the transformer and a rectifier diode (15), where the secondary winding and rectifier diode are connected with each other such that the output voltages are generated during half-periods of the alternating voltage. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling output voltages of a resonant converter.
