The method involves detecting a cure degree of a radiation-curable object coating (12) by an optical measuring station (16) during or after applying radiation on the coating by a radiation source i.e. UV radiator, and scanning the measuring light reflected from the coating at the optical measuring station at various wavelengths. A useful signal is detected at one wavelength dependent on the cure degree, and reference signals independent of the cure degree are detected at other wavelengths for correction of the useful signal. An independent claim is also included for a system for examination of curing of a radiation-curable object coating.
