The brushless synchronous generator (1) has a stator (10) having a main winding (12) and an auxiliary winding (13) for generating an excitation field, and a rotor (20) with a main excitation winding (22) with leg pole geometry. An auxiliary excitation winding (23) of the rotor is provided with full pole geometry and driven with the main excitation winding on a common armature (21) and is connected with a rectifier bridge (25) arranged at the rotor. An independent claim is included for generator arrangement.
