Manufacturing a form-cured component (1), preferably a vehicle body component, comprises heating a board (2) of steel in a heating plant (3) to a temperature above the austenitizing temperature of steel, and subsequently form curing in a tool (10). The board is thermomechanically reshaped at a temperature of 900-1100[deg] C and with a degree of forming of at least 15%, after heating and immediately before the form curing. An independent claim is also included for the form-cured component, prepared by the above mentioned method.
