The apparatus has a sensor probe (2) that is introduced over the femoral artery, and vascular access tube (1) that is introduced over the radial artery (3). A pressure sensor (11) is provided for measuring arterial blood pressure of patient (4). A latching unit is provided for performing irreversible latching of sensor probe. A patient monitor (12) is provided with input channel (13) for reading measured values of pressure sensor. An evaluation unit is provided for evaluating physiological parameters from measured values of pressure sensor.
