The carrier (5) has planar data carrier bodies (10) including strain gauges (20, 20', 20'', 20'''). One of the strain gauges is arranged in or on the data carrier bodies in spatial relation to support points (30, 30', 30'', 30''') of the data carrier bodies such that force is exerted on the data carrier bodies if the data carrier bodies are mounted at the support points. The strain gauges detect measure for a supporting force caused by exerting the force on the data carrier bodies at the support points. The strain gauges are formed as an electrically conductive structure. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system comprising a portable data carrier (2) a method for manufacturing a portable data carrier (3) a method for detecting force exertion on the portable data carrier.
