The device (10) has a tape (12) i.e. head band, for re-clamping a body part i.e. head, where two detention elements (16a, 16b) are provided at an inner side (14) of the tape and connected together by a variable length connection element (18). The detention elements rest on skin and are directed outwards by the connection element to produce tension in the skin in a range between the detention elements when the device is utilized for a skin smoothing process. A clamping element is arranged on the tape, and an elastic element is made of elastane, choloroprene rubber or terry cloth. The detention elements are formed as planar plaster. An independent claim is also included for a method for performing a skin smoothing process.
