Method for adapting battery model for lithium ion battery connected with electric drive motor for driving e.g. motor car, involves adapting battery model based on parameters obtained from evaluated current and/or voltage values of cells
The method involves evaluating current values and/or voltage values of electrochemical cells of a battery in response to a charging profile with which the battery is charged during charging process. Charging current (510) and charging voltage are varied during charging process. The parameters of a battery model to be evaluated are obtained from the evaluated current and/or voltage values. The battery model is adapted based on the obtained parameters. Internal resistance and/or capacity of the battery are determined by the evaluated current and/or voltage values. An independent claim is also included for a motor car comprising an electric drive motor.
