The method involves generating pseudo non-diffractive light beam (6) distributed at several positions (4) over a beam width (5), from light beam (2). The nonlinear conversion is carried out with respect to generated light beam. The converted beam (6') is spatially-resolved to detect intensity of the converted beam such that intensity distribution (11) of converted beam is determined. The statistical moment of intensity distribution is determined by performing pulse form analysis, and pulse duration over beam width of light beam is determined based on statistical moment. An independent claim is included for device for analyzing spatial time pulse of light beam.
