Method for selecting park assistance function of park guidance assistant for motor car, involves selecting park assistance functions from determined function groups of park assistance functions as function of classified parking space
The method involves determining function groups (AP, EP) of park assistance functions (A-E) from an ignition switch state and a distance traveled path of a motor car (1). Environment of the motor car is determined by a sensor system (7). Parking spaces in the environment of the motor car are determined and classified in longitudinal and transverse parking spaces. The park assistance functions are selected from the determined function groups of the park assistance functions as function of the classified parking space. An independent claim is also included for a park guidance assistant including an environment sensor system.
