The method involves scanning regions (4) to be tested on a component (1), so that motion speed of image fields are maximally large such that two infrared images are received per scanning cycle, and are minimally large such that two scanning cycles take place in expected response time of an object to be detected. The infrared images are received in a sequence such that a series is assigned to the infrared images. The series of infrared images is received at a determined receiving position. The regions to be tested are covered by the image fields at the receiving position. An independent claim is also included for a device for reducing measuring time of thermographic testing of a component.
