The system has a motor (2) provided in a position and/or velocity control circuit and producing propulsive power that acts on a vibratory mechanism. An actuator (10) produces counter force (Fd) i.e. frictional force, which reacts in a moving direction of the vibratory mechanism depending upon a state variable, which is provided as acceleration or speed. The counter force acts between a transmission link and a reference system of an inertial system. A speed controller (8) is supported at bottom of a position controller (7). An independent claim is also included for a method for active attenuation of a vibratory propulsion system.
