摘要

The method involves measuring deformation of a tire of a vehicle, and algorithmically determining tire pressure by applying measured deformation. A wheel load is determined by a piezoelectric force measuring platform. Vertical deformation of a side surface of the tire is determined by a laser measurement device or a charge coupled device (CCD) camera. The tire pressure is computed by applying the wheel load and deformation. The vertical deformation is determined as difference between radius (R) of the tire above a horizontal center point and actual height (H) of midpoint of a wheel. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining tire pressure of a vehicle, comprising a piezoelectric force measuring platform.
