The wave power station has a roller with shovel-like slats that are set in motion by waves, and a platform for changing height of the roller such that rotation direction of the slats is changed. Water sensors adapt the platform to height of water level, and a transmission drives a generator by downstream arranged driving wheels, where the generator converts energy released by the transmission into current. The transmission and the generator are arranged in a protective housing.
