Temperature controller (30) for controlling the temperature of a cryoprobe (10) which supplies a refrigerant (1) having a first pressure (P1) to an evaporation zone (15) such that the refrigerant (1) is under the presence of a second pressure (P2) for cooling a cooling section of the cryoprobe (10) evaporates at least temporarily, in which temperature regulator (30) a pressure adjusting device is provided which adjusts at least the second pressure (P2) in the evaporation region (15) for controlling the temperature of the cryoprobe (10) in that the pressure setting device comprises at least one first pressure sensor (31 ') for measuring the second pressure (P2) and at least one adjustable valve (32') which are connected via a control device (40) for regulating the second pressure (P2).
