A method and system to optimize the compensation digital filter coefficient of the digital controlled switching mode power supply within the power distribution system is disclosed. The power control system comprises at least one POL (point-of-load) regulator having a power conversion circuit through a feedback loop adapted to carry the power to the load and a digital controller coupled to the power conversion circuit. The digital controller includes a digital filter having a transfer function defined by a plurality of filter coefficients. Digital controller stores the samples of the feedback measurements periodically. The system controller searches for the stored samples from the digital controller through the serial data bus. After searching the predetermined number of samples, the system controller calculates the optimized filter coefficients for the digital filter and transfer the optimized filter coefficients to the digital controller for use in a digital filter. ;
