PURPOSE: A laser welding apparatus for a roll forming system and a control method thereof are provided to improve welding quality by variably controlling the output and focus moving speed of a laser beam according to the forming speed of a roll-formed beam in real time.;CONSTITUTION: A laser welding apparatus for a roll forming system comprises front and rear guide units(110,120), a laser welding unit(130), a forming speed sensing unit(140), and a camera(150). The front and rear guide units are installed at a fixed interval on a rear base of a roll forming unit and guide the movement of a roll-formed beam. The laser welding unit is arranged between the front and rear guide units and installed on one of side units via a bracket(133). The laser welding unit forms a welded portion by projecting a laser beam(LB) on a welding spot of the moving shaped beam while repetitively rotating a reflective mirror(136) at a fixed angle through forward and reverse driving of a mirror motor(137). The forming speed sensing unit detects the forming speed(V) of the roll-formed beam and outputs a signal to a controller(C). The camera takes an image of the welded portion and outputs an image signal to the controller.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2012
