PURPOSE: An intelligent power saving control system using a pattern cognition technique and an intelligent power saving policy establishment method in the intelligent power saving control system are provided to automatically set optimal standby mode time based on PC usage pattern information, thereby optimizing power management of a computer. CONSTITUTION: A power saving mode control unit(110) switches a mode of a user PC to a standby mode or a general mode according to an intelligent power saving policy. A pattern data collecting unit(120) collects or provides inactive state maintenance time information of an input device. A pattern data storage unit(210) groups and stores the inactive state maintenance time information by each time. A power saving mode policy establishment unit(230) calculates a weighted value per a group classified by each time to establish the intelligent power saving policy.
